Using the Codes

Windows assigns a numeric code to dissimilar accented letters, other unusual characters in addition to exceptional mathematical symbols. For instance the code for lower case á is 0225, in addition to the code for capital Á is 0193. The ALT cardinal input is used to manually insert these letters in addition to symbols past times calling the numeric code assigned to them.
To role the codes:
  1. Place your cursor inwards the location where y'all want to insert a exceptional character.
  2. Activate the numeric cardinal pad on the right of the keyboard past times pressing Num Lock (upper right of keyboard). The Num Lock light on the keyboard volition signal that the numeric cardinal pad is on.

NOTE: You must role the numeric cardinal pad; if y'all role the publish keys on the locomote past times of the keyboard, the characters volition non appear. If y'all are on a laptop or estimator without a separate numeric keypad one of the other methods is recommended.
  3. While pressing downwards the ALT key, type the four-digit code on the numeric cardinal pad at the right border of the keyboard. The codes are "case sensitive." For instance, the code for lower-case á is ALT+0225, but capital Á is ALT+0193.

NOTE: If y'all convey the International keyboard activated, y'all volition alone hold upwards able to input codes alongside the ALT key on the left side of the keyboard.
  4. Release the ALT key. The graphic symbol volition seem when the ALT key is released.
